God’s Plan for a Joy-Filled Marriage is a marriage preparation supplement that offers engaged couples a more complete understanding of God’s glorious plan for marriage and human sexuality than perhaps any program available in the church today. Based on Pope John Paul II’s Theology of the Body, this supplement is not a substitute for current diocesan or parish programs. It is intended to enhance a key component of marriage preparation: catechesis in the theology of marriage and the gift of human sexuality.

The materials are designed for use in an all-day program for couples, with three talks and two reflection/discussion sessions in the morning and the same in the afternoon. The instructor's manual (along with Good News about Sex and Marriage) provides sufficient material and direction for presenters to prepare the six talks and guide the sessions. The couple's manual contains necessary material for uncerstanding and reflection. In addition, the six talks, delivered by Christopher West, are available in three formats: CD, DVD, and VHX cassette.

Couples who have participated in this program report that:

• 91% were sexually active coming into the program, whereas after the program:
• 48% (of the 91%) said they will save sex until marriage.
• An additional 20% said they were now considering saving sex for marriage.
• 31% stated they will “definitely use” natural family planning in their marriages.
• 45% “may use NFP” in their marriage.
• 78% came away with a better understanding of the Catholic vision of marriage.
• 50% came away with a more positive impression of the Catholic Church.
• 61% made a deeper commitment to Christ as a result of this program.
