I enjoyed reading your site and the personal stories. I am wondering if there are any stories of Christian families that have made the error of terminating a pregnancy and then went on the have more children, like many of the sterilization stories. We got caught up in the materialistic world and after already having four children found ourselves pregnant with number five unplanned. We went into depression and nervousness and very early on terminated the pregnancy for what we thought was love for our family and children and our ability to provide. We were even angry at ourselves for not getting permanently sterilized after our fourth.

Immediately following, we looked at each other and knew we were wrong. This was wrong for us and our family and we wanted to bring a new soul into the world. We had not allowed God to work through us. I kept hearing a voice in my head say "Change your Life", then it became "I will send you that soul, be open" a few months later now I find myself pregnant and committed to a big family. I learned my lesson.

I think, though, all the guilt put on a person who makes this mistake, shies them away from having another as they feel undeserving and like a bad parent. I still struggle with this feeling and pray it goes away before our newest soul is born as I want to be a wonderful family. I understand the regret of sterilization as it must be the same or close to the regret of abortion, as all of us chose our own road instead of God's plan. I think all women who made this tragic mistake in their lives would benefit by knowing success stories like those in the sterilization category. To know we can change our lives and minds and have the wonderful families God intended without all of the guilt, regret and shame
